BY BRIAN CARSON
LEWISTOWN – The Mifflin County Commissioners proclaimed March as American Red Cross Month during last Thursday’s meeting, recognizing the work of volunteers who respond to disasters, collect blood donations and support military families in the region.
The proclamation honors the American Red Cross’s humanitarian mission and encourages county residents to support its programs and volunteer efforts.
James McHale, a volunteer with the American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces program, told commissioners the organization has remained active in the county over the past year.
