MIFFLINTOWN – The Juniata County Commissioners on Tuesday ratified more than $326,000 in Community Development Block Grant payments to C&R Directional Boring, LLC, marking the largest financial action on the board’s agenda and advancing ongoing infrastructure work in the county.
The payments, totaling $326,586.25, were approved as part of three CDBG-IDIS checks submitted by the Juniata County Planning and Community Development Department. The individual checks included $189,512.00, $101,606.60 and $35,467.65.
The ratification represents payment for work already completed under a federally funded Community Development Block Grant program. While the agenda did not specify the exact project location, directional boring is commonly associated with underground utility installation or replacement, including water, sewer, or broadband infrastructure.
